The President of African Communion of Reformed Churches (ACRC), Most Rev Dr Uma Onwunta has, once again, reminded Christians of the need to put off the old garments of worldliness as Royal Priests.
The Key Note Speaker at the 7th Annual Synod of the Niger Delta Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria held in Rumuomasi Parish, Port Harcourt from Thursday 9th to 12th June, 2022 in his message titled, “The Royal Priest and the Royal Robe; the Challenge of Evangelism in expanding the frontiers of the Church”, explained from 1Peter 2:1-4 that a royal priest is one who has been washed with the blood of Jesus and dressed with the garment of righteousness, sitting at the right hand of Jesus in dominion.
He stressed the need for believers to understand how to journey with Jesus Christ so that they can conquer the unconquered lands.
“If you’re going to remain a royal priest, you must put off the wrong garments.” he said.
He continued, “If you’re going to reign with the master, you must put on the garment of righteousness.
“We’re not where we used to be. Yet there’s still lands do cover and places to go.”
He charged the deligates to the Synod and Christians at large thus:
“Preach the gospel. Empower people with the saving gospel of Jesus and empathize with them. Stop condeming those people out there. Because once you were like them. Learn of Christ with meekness and lowliness. Continue to preach the undiluted word. Every word of Jesus is true and will finally prevail.”
He prayed God to grant His children the grace to fulfill the tasks given to them by the Master.
